Album Highlight: Straight, No Chaser by Thelonious Monk

I can't tell you how much we enjoy sharing space with a record store, especially a store like New Style Records. They have a wonderful selection, great people, and the music really enhances the atmosphere while you're browsing.

So one of the things I'm going to try to do this year is to highlight some of the albums I dive into after picking one up at New Style. I'm not knowledgeable enough to do a full review, so mostly I plan to minimize the editorial comments. 

I asked them to put this one on towards the end of a busy day after the store cleared out, and I knew it was going home with me. Haven't stopped listening to it since.
