Welcome to

Why Birdwhistell Books?
Birdwhistell Books is now opening a store in downtown Elizabethtown on September 10, 2025! We will sell both new and used books.

Our goal is to find and sell quality books. Instead of stocking a bunch of shelf-filler, Kelsey, Tyler, and Marian personally select each book in order to offer a collection of quality books worth reading.

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get the first chance at our newest inventory every week.

Meet the Staff

Marian Carlson & Bryan Conover
Meet Marian and Bryan! Marian loves books almost as much as she loves her home state of Wisconsin! Not only is she in charge of our new book selection at Birdwhistell Books, but she also is the Library Director for LaRue County Public Library. You will likely see her husband Bryan and their daughter Rosemary around the store quite a bit. Be ready for Rosie’s expert picks of the latest Bluey episodes and Fancy Nancy books.

Kelsey & Tyler Birdwhistell
Meet Kelsey and Tyler! They are both teachers who love hunting for the best used books to pass along. After operating a pop-up shop for the past two years, they are incredibly excited to open a storefront downtown. You might see their kids Henry and William hanging around the shop….they’ll be the ones at the train table.
